Accessibility
Statement

ModeIL is an independent index of Israeli fashion designers, and it should work for everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification or other assistive technology.

Standard

The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the guidelines Israeli Standard 5568 is based on.

What has been done

• Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline.
• Each page has a “Skip to content” link, a clear heading structure and labelled navigation.
• Buttons, links and filters have screen-reader labels, including their state (selected, open).
• Text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
• Animation is turned off when your device is set to reduce motion.
• On the map, searching by brand, city or style gives the same information as picking pins.

How it was checked

Every page was tested with automated accessibility checks (axe-core) and by hand with a keyboard in October 2026. It hasn’t yet been tested by people who use screen readers day to day, so if something doesn’t work for you, I want to know.

Known limitations

• The brand websites ModeIL links to are run by the brands themselves, and their accessibility is outside my control.
• Map pins are small and some sit close together. The search above the map leads to the same information.
• In Hebrew mode, some screen-reader labels are still in English.
• Brand photos are treated as decoration: each brand’s name and description appear as text next to its photo.
